Firda
Firda is a vocational school in the north of the Netherlands (province of Friesland) and in the north of the province of Flevoland. Divided into six colleges, it offers a broad variety of vocational training programmes from level 1 to level 4 to more than 21.000 students, both full-time and part-time. We teach our students the knowledge and skills that are needed to become good professionals in their profession, in close cooperation with companies.
Our motivation
As UNESCO-school, Firda strives for equal treatment and equality of opportunity in education and offers appropriate options, programs and support to students, regardless of their background. Over the past few years we have made great efforts to ensure that more of our students with fewer opportunities will be able to gain an experience abroad – and with heartwarming results. We wish every student to have such an experience!
As a partner in this project we hope to increase awareness of professionals of VET schools and of regional, national and European stakeholders on the importance of inclusive mobility programmes and the needs of students with disabilities in these programmes. We also strive to ensure that VET professionals will have a better understanding of opportunities for improving their mobility programmes and will gain more knowledge on how to do so. For students, we will create clear communication and information materials that will take away barriers to go abroad.
Let’s ensure together that every student will have the chance to participate in an international mobility!
