International Team gathers in Tartu to celebrate successful collaboration
As all good things come to an end, the IMVET project will officially conclude on the 31st of August 2026. Before closing this chapter, the project partners had the opportunity to meet once more to review the results and celebrate the successful completion of the project.
The final meeting took place in the charming city of Tartu, known as the “City of Good Thoughts”, on 19th – 20th of May. The event was hosted by the Estonian VOCO team and brought together project coordinators from the Netherlands, Spain, Greece and Finland.
Promoting more inclusive mobility opportunities
From the outset, the main objective of the IMVET project has been to make international mobility programs more inclusive and accessible for all vocational education and training (VET) students.
This final transnational project meeting (TPM), partners focused on evaluating and disseminating the project results. The tools and approaches developed throughout the project aim to ensure that also students requiring additional support have equal opportunities to participate in international mobility programs.
Disseminating the results of the IMVET project
During TPM on 20th of May, we organized a virtual international multiplier event to share the outcomes and impact of the IMVET project. Participants of international multiplier event included vocational education professionals from various organizations in different parts of Europe. The event provided valuable insights into the project’s results, including the research findings and practical tools developed on promoting equal international opportunities for all students during their vocational studies.
The online event was led by the IMVET project coordinator, Aniek Luyt, who introduced the project and highlighted the research paper underpinning the project’s work. The research is based on interviews with students requiring additional support as well as teachers across all partner institutions.
Following the introduction, work package leaders presented the key outputs of each work package. These included the practical toolkit materials, the organizational self-assessment tool, and information resources designed for students. All materials are available on the IMVET website under Results & Activities.
Feedback from participants was highly positive. The event was described as interesting, inspiring, and informative. Notably, most participants reported that they were able to identify at least three concrete ways to improve accessibility within their own organization’s mobility programs.
Cultural program provided additional inspiration
In addition to the working sessions, participants had the opportunity to explore Tartu and learn more about its rich and inspiring history. Tartu old city walking tour concluded with a relaxing boat ride along the river Emajõgi in beautiful sunny and warm weather.
The boat ride reflected our project – even though there are turns and waves, the most important thing is doing things together and keeping each other’s backs.
A successful conclusion to an international project
The final meeting of the IMVET project brought together a committed and active international network, whose collaboration has produced concrete outcomes for the development of vocational education. As the project comes to an end, attention is already turning to the future and how these results will be implemented in practice across different countries.
